What do you think about the F train shuttles?

As the wags at The Brooklyn Paper put it, "F train shuttles -- they're baaa-aaack!"

Columbia Waterfront residents had ample experience with these buses last year. And now we're due for another dose, thanks to the ongoing -- and much needed -- rehabilitation of the aged Culver Viaduct.

CoWNA's Public Services Committee wants to know what you think about the shuttles. Has the service been good or bad? Any suggestions for making it better? Please leave your thoughts in the comments.

  1. I rode on the 'F' train shuttle buses last year and the problems I saw were that the bus drivers could not announce the street names of each stop since they were not familiar with route & only able to recognize the signs that displayed the 'F Shuttle'. The other problem was overcrowding on the buses in both directions.
I think it's a bad idea of the MTA's plan to eliminate the B71 bus. It means everyone (young & old) would have to walk to the subway station (in the snow like today) or find alternate means to get to Park Slope. The MTA reported low rider ship on the B71 but did they ever track its performance in onetime arrival since most people would walk rather than wait for the bus if it is late. Thank u
